2022 Toyota GR86

You have two trims to choose from, the GR86 base and GR86 Premium. You'll certainly turn heads when you drive either of the trims with its distinct long, sloping nose, menacing-looking front grille, and dramatically shaped LED headlights. Sculpted body panels with scoops along the doors lead to the sharp slope of the back of this coupe.

The back of the GR86 has a rear spoiler and dual chrome-tipped exhaust ports for an extra sporty look. The base GR86 rides on 17-inch machine-finished wheels and the Premium trim comes with 18-inch matte black-painted wheels and high-performance summer tires. Color choices for this snazzy coupe include Raven Black and Track bRED.

You'll have plenty of power for either of the Toyota GR86 trims. Under the hood of this car, you'll find a 2.4-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine that pumps out 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. You can complete the powertrain with an interactive six-speed manual transmission or a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. If you're going for speed, the GR86 can go from zero to 60 mph in under six seconds.

When you drive the 2022 GR86, you'll notice how well it handles and stays firmly on the pavement, even with hard acceleration. This is due to the rear-wheel-drive system and the Torsen limited-slip differential. In addition, the GR86 comes with front MacPherson struts, GR circuit-tuned coil springs, and iron front knuckles. The rear gets a multilink suspension system, and both the front and rear have stabilizer bars.

You can fit up to four people in the two rows of seats inside of the GR86. Cloth-trimmed seats come on the base trim and the Premium gets leather-trimmed seats. The upper trim also comes with two-stage heated front seats with leather bolsters and Ultrasuede inserts. Both trims have a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, and parking brake lever. Adding to the sports car feel of the 2022 GR86, the Premium trim comes with shiny aluminum pedals.

This coupe comes with Toyota's GR86 Audio infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration come standard for both trims, as does Bluetooth and two USB charging ports. Listen to your audio through the six-speaker sound system found on the base, the eight-speaker system that comes with the Premium trim, or opt for the available 10-speaker system for either trim.

With a sports car that has amazing power and torque, it's nice to know that the 2022 Toyota GR86 comes equipped with safety features and driver-assist technology. Safety features include vehicle stability control, hill start assist, and three-point seat belts. Driver-assist features include automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision warning with throttle management, and a lane departure warning.
