The Toyota Camry continues to impress consumers with its smooth ride, power, and technology, even when many are choosing crossover SUVs. For the 2023 model year, the Camry sees just a few changes. The LE trim now comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, and it now has illuminated mirrors for the front sunshades and selectable driving modes. Here's a look at the 2023 Toyota Camry.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Camry starts the lineup with the LE. It has 17-inch wheels and LED headlights. Step up to the SE for 18-inch alloy wheels, a stiffer suspension, color-keyed rocker panels, a black grille, and a color-keyed rear spoiler. The SE Nightshade adds to this with unique 18-inch wheels and black exterior trim elements, or you can step up to the XLE for integrated turn signals in the side mirrors. Choose the XSE for 19-inch alloy wheels and the sporty exterior elements from the SE.
There's also a TRD trim for the Camry. It has black trim elements, a black spoiler, aerodynamic body trim, a sport exhaust, and black-painted exterior mirrors.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the 2023 Camry is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that puts out 202 horsepower under the hood of most trims and 206 horsepower under the hood of the SE and XSE. The TRD comes standard with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 267 horsepower, and this stronger engine is optional for the XSE and the XLE.
Performance
No matter which Camry you choose, it delivers a smooth and comfortable ride. The sportier suspension that comes with the SE makes it feel more agile while maintaining its composure around tight curves. The TRD is the model to choose when you want to bump up the performance. It lowers the ride height and upgrades the brakes, making it hug the road and stay connected around tight corners.
Interior
There's room for five in the Camry, and it comes standard with features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and high-quality cloth upholstery. The SE adds a sporty leather-wrapped steering wheel and simulated leather upholstery for the seats. Moving up to the XLE gets you a power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated front seats, and leather upholstery.
Technology features in the Camry include a 7-inch touch screen if you have the LE, which also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There's a 9-inch touch screen in the XLE and above, and these trims also have a wireless charging pad along with an upgraded driver information display. An integrated navigation system is available as an option, and you can also upgrade to a nine-speaker JBL stereo.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Camry comes with a full suite of advanced driver aids. These include a forward collision alert system with mitigation, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam headlights, a road sign recognition system, and adaptive cruise control. The XLE upgrades to a full-speed adaptive cruise control system, and it adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. The optional Driver Assist Package adds a 360-degree surround-view camera, a head-up display, and rear automatic braking.
